Special Exhibit - Blue and White Traditions in Miniature
This exhibit is a sequel to the red and white exhibit five years ago. Sisters, Andrea Blackhurst from Ohio, and Ellen Carter, AAQG member, made the fifty miniature quilts. The quilts were made at the request of Houston festival organizers, to be included in the Sapphire Exhibit to commemorate the forty-fifth anniversary of festival. They were shown in Houston in the fall of 2019, and in Ohio and at the Minnesota Quilters show in 2019.
As a service to show entrants, Marcia Kaylakie will appraise quilts hanging during the show. If time permits and your quilt is hanging in the show, Marcia can make an appointment for the quilt; you don’t have to be present. If you wish to make an appointment during the show for another time, please contact Marcia at the information below. The cost is $55 per quilt, with part of the proceeds going to the guild .
Take a little bit of the Capital of Texas QuiltFest home with you! Commemorative t-shirts in two styles, show pins, and more will be available.
